Andrij Bojarov’s video art installation “Restless”, engaging in the dialogue with the television medium, was created using a portable video camera and a switched-on television set. The realisation  makes the part of the rich video art history tradition, where artists have been debating with the television medium since the second half of the 1960s. Perceiving the television as a phenomenon that is increasingly affecting the society, its structure, beliefs, artists have tried to argue with it, to deconstruct it, and to prevent the perception act from happening on the unilateral basis of "transmission-reception". They would make attempts to influence the picture and they used switched on television sets as the substance of their work. Bojarov often uses the strategy of "appropriation art" in his work, using quotes from his own and other peoples work, for example by recording with a video camera television programmes or, as in this case, silent films. Thus, his video art installations actually become a complex structure of overlapping pictures: a film image and a video picture, which deceptively are similar to each other, while in fact profoundly different. In addition, the time-lapse registration method brings the whole closer to the structure of a photography, thus, one piece of work in a way contains three types of the picture, which Villem Flusser referred to as a "technical image", created not by a human hand, but with the help of the "apparatus" recording the observed reality.
