Leszek Knaflewski (1960–2014)

Was active in the fields of installation, drawing, audio-performances and video. Member of the experimental music groups Rasa, Drummachina and KOT. Co-creator of the Poznań-based group Koło Klipsa (1983–1990). Knaflewski’s projects from the period of his group activities bore reference to emotions, dark intuitions, and served to establish unobvious relations with the world of nature and religion. Between 1980 and 1985, the artist studied at the State Higher School of Visual Arts (PWSSP, transformed later into the Academy of Fine Arts, currently the University of Arts) in Poznań, where he obtained a diploma in painting. Collaborator of numerous music bands: Rasa, Sten, Socrealism, Art Sound Project, Drum Machina, Kot. Engaged in didactic work since 1990. Professor at the Faculty of Multimedia Communication (Intermedia Department) of the University of Arts in Poznań and at the Faculty of Art of the University of Zielona Góra. His disciples included such artists as Wojciech Bąkowski, Piotr Bosacki and Konrad Smoleński.
